Maurizio Borgna allegedly remarked “You all seem to have a very, like, keen eye and understanding of what you want to do.” to the Dogleg guys when he was brought in to mix their debut album. That might have been the understatement of the year (which you can read all about in our interview with Dogleg over in the Features section).
Melee is, for what it is, a god damned near perfect album. Yeah I don’t know what else to tell you. We both thought that it would be the No 1 album on this list. It just goes to show what an incredible year in music this has been when an Album as criminally genius as Melee only finishes No. 6
