We love Web Web and Max Herre. After Web Web’s excellent album Worshippers last year we surely weren’t expecting them to return this soon and certainly not in this stunning fashion. WEB MAX is simultaneously, nothing remarkable and at the same time ALL of the remarkable at once. The albums like so many great jazz albums before it feels like a collection of brilliantly performed standards but as far as we know it’s all original compositions just written at the level of the standards. Quite remarkable if we may say so. Oh! and then Yusef Lateef, guests on one track which is reason enough in of itself to buy the album.
